Located in Mid Town Detroit, DBA|CA is nestled in an attractive downtown area that is located within one mile of Detroit Children’s Hospital and Detroit Medical Center, adding to our ability to provide comprehensive medical services when appropriate. With a focus on keeping youth, families, and the surrounding communities safe in order to reduce recidivism, while also teaching youth to be responsible members of society, our residential treatment programs provide supportive, therapeutic, and compassionate care for male and female children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 19 who are struggling with mental health disorders and co-occurring concerns.
Our programs have been designed for adjudicated youth, youth who have committed criminal acts, youth who are required to undergo psychiatric treatment, and non-adjudicated youth who are in need of a structured setting as they find healing from traumatic experiences and/or mental health concerns. We proudly stand out from our competitors by providing gender-specific treatment tracks, as well as specialized treatment tracks for adolescents who are struggling with substance abuse, cognitive or developmental delays, and significant traumatic backgrounds. When a child is plagued by the often debilitating symptoms of depression, Detroit Behavioral Institute – Capstone Academy can provide the holistic solution needed for him or her to find true healing.
Why consider treatment for depression at Detroit Behavioral Institute in Michigan
When children and adolescents are struggling with depression, and their symptoms remain unaddressed and untreated, it can negatively impact their futures in a monumental way. These children may struggle to perform adequately in school, resulting in academic failure and preventing a successful transition into college or the career of their choice. These children may also find that their abilities to interact socially has become greatly hindered as their symptoms have left them isolated, drastically lowering their self-esteem and feelings of self-worth. This, in turn, can result in the demise of present relationships, as well as prevent them from being able to develop strong, healthy interpersonal relationships in the future. Fortunately, these negative consequences can be avoided when proper treatment is sought and implemented.
Residential treatment programs have long been known to be extremely successful at helping children and adolescents overcome the devastating symptoms of depression. When children enter into this type of programming, they are being afforded an opportunity to step into an environment where their sole responsibility is to work towards healing and becoming fully well once again. Additionally, in this setting, children and adolescents are provided with around-the-clock monitoring by highly trained, highly qualified, and highly compassionate mental health professionals who can step in at any hour of the day or night when an intervention is needed. Through the use of a variety of therapeutic techniques, children and adolescents in residential treatment programs can learn the tools they need to not only overcome their devastating symptoms, but to successfully navigate through future challenges as well.
