Announce our new Chief Medical Officer,

Dr. James D. Adamo, MDPC

Dr. James D. Adamo has been a Psychiatrist since 1984. He completed his undergraduate training at Michigan State University (B.S., Psychology) and received his medical degree from Wayne State University, with a Psychiatry specialty.    Dr. Adamo comes to PIONEER BEHAVIORAL HEALTH’S family of behavioral services which includes: Harbor Oaks Hospital and Recovery Center; Pioneer Counseling Centers; Detroit Capstone Academy and Michigan Wellplace from Cottage Hospital Behavioral Health (Henry Ford System) where he previously served as Medical Director. 

Dr. Adamo is board certified and a member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In his tenure he has achieved numerous awards and honors including Chief Resident, Department of Psychiatry at Henry Ford Hospital, Consumer Checkbook’s “Top Doctors in America” and Hour Detroits’ “Top Doc”.   Dr. Adamo is a faculty member and Assistant Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry for Michigan State University School of Medicine. He serves on several health related boards and is prominently involved in the community. His professional treatment of patients will continue in addition to oversight of physician practices and clinical protocol(s).
